Sharon A Appleyard
Dr Sharon Appleyard is a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO, working in the Australian National Fish Collection in Hobart. Sharon has expertise in DNA barcoding for egg, larval and adult fish and shark species identification; genomic analyses for population connectivity analyses; and molecular selective breeding in aquaculture species. More recently, Sharon led projects which have extended the ANFC’s molecular investigations including eDNA for temperate fish detection; research in low input/degraded DNA next generation library builds and sequencing for species identification; and bulked fish and larval metabarcoding for inputs into daily egg production method analyses.
