I have always loved and admired Australia's unique bushland. Being a kid growing up on the George's River I would often fish. I very quickly became fascinated with whatever fish would come out of the river, and since then have wanted to help ensure that fish remain an ever constant part of Australian life. As such, I have undertaken steps throughout my career to support fish conservation in any way I can.
I achieved honours first class on the subject of larval golden perch impingement susceptibility on fish protection screens at the University of Technology Sydney. Working with Dr Craig Boys of the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries, I have been assisting with work regarding fish protection screens in the Murray Darling Basin. I am now continuing my studies by undertaking a PhD candidacy with the University of Technology Sydney freshwater research group and NSW DPI.
